Salman Rushdie off ventilator after stabbing, agent says

Author Salman Rushdie's condition is improving and he has been taken off a ventilator, his agent told Reuters in an email. His recovery will be, probably, a long one, but he should be ok in time.

Rushdie was stabbed repeatedly by an attacker during a public event in New York state a few days ago.
